BUCKLE UP... EVERY TRIP. EVERY TIME.

During holiday seasons, millions of people travel to be with family and friends.  On Thanksgiving weekend, which runs from 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, and, ending at 5:59 A.M. the Monday following Thanksgiving, the roads are packed with hungry travelers, holiday shoppers looking for a bargain, and excited fans, on their way to season ending football games.  In an effort to keep everyone safe on the roads, Wyandot County Safe Communities and local law enforcement is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to share an important lifesaving reminder: Buckle Up—Every Trip. Every Time.

Approximately 50% of daytime travelers killed on the roadways during Thanksgiving are unrestrained.  Nighttime proves to be even more deadly, with a death rate for unrestrained travelers at approximately 55 percent.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that these deaths are preventable.  All it takes is the simple click of a seatbelt.

No matter where you are going or where you are seated in the vehicle, please properly buckle your seat belt.  If you are the driver, ensure that everyone arrives safely to their Thanksgiving destinations by making sure all passengers are properly restrained; especially children.

Remember: Buckle Up—Every Trip. Every Time.
