Wyandot County WIC benefits and services to continue into November

UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio — As of Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, the Ohio Department of Health has secured additional funding to sustain the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) into November.

The additional Nutrition Services Administration funds will allow Wyandot County WIC operations to continue at the local level including determining eligibility for potential WIC participants, providing nutrition benefits to participants, providing nutrition education and offering breastfeeding education and support.

WIC participants should continue to redeem WIC food benefits as they have always done. WIC participants have been and will continue to be contacted by Wyandot County WIC as updates become available.

Wyandot County WIC currently serves nearly 400 active participants including 319 infants and children, and nearly 80 pregnant or postpartum people.

Individuals affected by loss of nutrition benefits may find food security resources at WyandotHelps.org or by calling the 211-resource hotline. Wyandot County Public Health will continue to share information and resources with the community as nutrition-assistance program funding updates become available.

Wyandot County Public Health is nationally accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Established in 2007, PHAB is the non-profit organization that administers the national accreditation program, which aims to advance and transform public health practice by championing performance improvement, strong infrastructure, and innovation.
