Wyandot County Public Health offering flu & COVID-19 vaccines at walk-in Carey clinic

As Wyandot County families prepare for holiday festivities and respiratory illness season arrives, Wyandot County Public Health is offering Carey residents the opportunity to get flu and COVID-19 immunizations to protect themselves and loved ones against severe flu and COVID-19 illness.

A walk-in immunization clinic is 2:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Carey Emergency Services Building, 200 E. North St., Carey, Ohio. No appointments are necessary.

This clinic will offer the 2026-2027 trivalent flu vaccine for individuals 6 months and older. High-dose flu vaccines are available for individuals ages 65 and older. Wyandot County Public Health will also offer the Spikevax (Moderna) 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 6 months and older.

Bring all insurance cards to the clinic. Reduced-cost vaccines may be available to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured.

Direct all vaccine-related and insurance-related questions to Wyandot County Public Health by calling 419-294-3852.

Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive their vaccines. Children may attend vaccination clinics with other guardians with a completed Vaccines for Minors consent form. Other guardians should bring identification with them at the time of the appointment.

While vaccination is the first and most crucial step in preventing respiratory illness, everyday preventive actions such as staying home when sick, staying away from those who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, frequent and proper handwashing and masking in public spaces when ill remain important protective factors for our community.

Wyandot County Public Health is nationally accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Established in 2007, PHAB is the non-profit organization that administers the national accreditation program, which aims to advance and transform public health practice by championing performance improvement, strong infrastructure, and innovation.
