Join Wyandot County Public Health from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Upper Sandusky Fire Department, 120 N 7th St, Upper Sandusky, OH 43351 for a free child safety seat check event. The seat check is held during the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce’s Spring Fling event in downtown Upper Sandusky.
Seat checks are conducted by Wyandot County Public Health's Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs) and are open to families and caregivers of children aged 12 and younger. CPSTs check that children are in the correct safety seat for their height, weight and age, and ensure seats are properly installed and safe for use.
Seat checks take around 30 minutes to complete. Plan to arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. on April 25 for a seat check to ensure CPST availability. Appointments are not necessary but may be made by calling Callan McMillion at 419-294-3852 ext. 233.
It is helpful for the child who uses the seat to be present for the seat check to ensure seats are fit properly. Caregivers should bring their vehicle owner's manual and child safety seat manual with them to the seat check if possible.
