COVID-19 UPDATE: MARCH 28, 2020

March 28, 2020 Wyandot County Public Health COVID-19 Update:

Are you aware of older individuals sheltering in place at home, or even in a nursing home, alone? Whether it is church, bridge club, or partaking in activities at our wonderful senior centers, please remember that many of the social activities that seniors rely on for socialization have been cancelled. Today, I ask each of you to reach out to your parents, grandparents, or even elderly neighbors and see how they are doing. Believe it or not, your phone call may be the brightest part of their day. If you are going to the store, ask if they need anything.  Remember social distancing rules when you make your delivery. Sometimes the simplest gesture is just what might be needed to lift their anxiety of being out in public.

As of 8:30 AM today, we are reporting one total positive COVID-19 test result in Wyandot County, and community transmission is suspected.

In the State of Ohio, the Ohio Department of Health is reporting 1406 confirmed cases and 25 deaths. For additional statewide case information visit:   https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/

The Ohio Department of Health has created a new dashboard at:   https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/home/dashboard .
