April 7, 2020 Wyandot County Public Health COVID-19 Update:
As of 8:30 AM today, there are five confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wyandot County. Do not rely on the number of positive tests to determine when you need to protect yourself. Continue to practice social distancing. The Stay at Home Order was put in place to protect citizens through self-quarantine. Please take these regulations seriously to keep Wyandot County healthy. The Ohio Department of Health has reported 4782 confirmed cases, 1354 hospitalizations, and 167 deaths in Ohio as of 2:00 PM Tuesday. For additional statewide case information visit: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/
Although Ohio Governor, Mike DeWine, has not issued an order for churches to stop services, he has strongly advised the halt of such gatherings. Mass congregations are a major concern of the continuing spread of Coronavirus. Many churches have heeded his advice and have ceased services for the foreseeable future.
During this Easter season, you may want to contact your house of worship for information about the availability of alternative services, which may include live streams, radio broadcasts, etc. Reach out to individuals who need assistance gaining access to their faith-based organizations. Thank you for participating in these services in non-traditional ways in order to limit the transmission of COVID-19 in our community.
