April 5, 2020 COVID-19 Update

April 5, 2020 Wyandot County Public Health COVID-19 Update:

As of 2:00 PM Sunday there are five confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wyandot County. Do not rely on the number of positive tests to determine when you need to protect yourself. Continue to practice social distancing. The Stay at Home Order was put in place to protect citizens through self-quarantine. Please take these regulations seriously to keep Wyandot County healthy.  Check our Facebook page for specific Wyandot County data.

The Ohio Department of Health is currently reporting 4043 confirmed cases, 1104 hospitalizations, and 119 deaths. For additional statewide case information visit: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/

To protect your family, it is important that high touch surfaces be regularly disinfected to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. This includes daily cleaning of counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, remotes, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, bedside tables, and any surfaces that may have body fluids on them. Currently, cleaning supplies are in high demand, and retailers are experiencing shortages. If you find yourself in need of disinfectants and wish to create your own, beware that mixing certain chemicals creates dangerous reactions. Please refer to these suggested cleaning alternatives from Ohio Department of Health Director, Amy Acton, MD, MPH: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/…/cleaning-disinfecting-altern…

The Ohio Department of Health has created the following dashboard which will provide you with both local and regional data: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/…/…/gov/covid-19/home/dashboard
