Health Dept. hosting ‘Autumn Immunity’ flu & COVID-19 clinics ahead of holiday gatherings

This time of year, there’s so much to plan and do to prepare for fall and winter holidays. With this in mind, Wyandot County Public Health is making it easy-as-pie to get immunized against flu and COVID-19 before the holiday rush begins.

Wyandot County Public Health’s Autumn Immunity clinics are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Thursday, Nov. 12 at the health department, 127-A S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky. These walk-in clinics will offer the following immunizations:

  • 2026-2027 trivalent flu immunizations for individuals 6 months and older. High-dose flu immunizations for individuals ages 65 and older.
  • Spikevax (Moderna) 2026-2027 COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 6 months and older.

Flu and COVID-19 immunizations are also available by appointment on Mondays and Fridays at Wyandot County Public Health. To schedule, call Wyandot County Public Health at 419-294-3852.

People who are uninsured or underinsured are encouraged to ask about reduced-cost immunization programs while scheduling appointments or before receiving immunizations at walk-in clinics. For all immunization- and insurance-related questions, call Wyandot County Public Health at 419-294-3852.

Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or another adult to receive immunizations. A completed Vaccines for Minors consent form is required for children attending immunization clinics with an adult who is not a legal guardian. The form is available at wyandothealth.com/forms/. Adults who are not the legal guardian of a child they are accompanying should bring a form of identification in addition to the consent form.

While immunization is the first and most crucial step in preventing respiratory illness, everyday preventive actions such as staying home when sick, staying away from those who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, frequent and proper handwashing and masking in public spaces when ill remain important protective factors for the community.

Wyandot County Public Health is nationally accredited through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Established in 2007, PHAB is the non-profit organization that administers the national accreditation program, which aims to advance and transform public health practice by championing performance improvement, strong infrastructure, and innovation.
