ODH director announces new data tool on Ohio school immunization rates

Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Director Bruce Vanderhoff, MD, MBA, recently announced the launch of a new dashboard that makes Ohio’s kindergarten immunization data easily accessible to the public.

The dashboard, titled “Annual Ohio Kindergarten Immunization Level Assessment,” is now live on the state’s DataOhio Portal.

“This interactive dashboard gives Ohioans a wealth of important, accessible information,” Dr. Vanderhoff said. “By making this data easier to understand and explore, we hope to support informed decision making that will help protect children and families from vaccine preventable diseases.”

Immunizations offer the best protection against a range of serious diseases. This new dashboard provides valuable information to school officials, parents, and decision makers about the potential risk of vaccine preventable diseases in their community.

Ohio law requires all schools to report summary immunization data to ODH each year. The new dashboard allows Ohioans to access kindergarten immunization data showing current vaccine rates and exemption rates by county, specific vaccine (MMR, DTaP, etc.), and by school.

The user-friendly dashboard features data from the 2017-2018 school year to the current year (2025-26) and will be updated annually.
