January 6, 2021: COVID-19 Update

January 6, 2021 Wyandot County Public Health COVID-19 Update:

There is a new website available for Wyandot County residents to preregister for the COVID-19 vaccine.  You simply enter your contact information and health history, and you will be contacted when vaccine is available for you.  If you have friends or family that need assistance preregistering, we encourage you to help them if they are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.  Click here to get started: wyandotgetvaccinated.com

Wyandot County Public Health is sadly reporting four additional COVID-19 deaths in Wyandot County.  The Health Department continues to send sympathies to those families that have experienced a loss during this time.  We ask the public to be vigilant in protecting themselves and each other as this virus rapidly spreads through our community.

There are currently 449 active cases of COVID-19 in Wyandot County.  The cumulative case count since March 2020 is 1,743.  This includes 1,415 lab-confirmed cases, 304 probable cases, and 24 suspect cases based on positive antibody tests.  There are currently 12 patients hospitalized for COVID-19.  Of the reported individuals, there have been 46 deaths and 1,248 have reached the end of their isolation period.  

Please continue to practice social distancing, wear face coverings in public, clean and disinfect regularly, monitor your health daily, and wash your hands frequently.
