April 9, 2020: COVID-19 Update

April 9, 2020 Wyandot County Public Health COVID-19 Update:

As of 8:30 AM, there are a total of 8 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wyandot County. This includes one death and one hospitalization. Do not rely on the number of positive tests to determine when you need to protect yourself. Continue to practice social distancing. The Stay at Home Order was put in place to protect citizens through self-quarantine. Please take these regulations seriously to keep Wyandot County healthy. Refer to Facebook for Wyandot specific data.

The Ohio Department of Health reported 5,512 confirmed cases, 1,612 hospitalizations, and 213 deaths as of 2:00 PM Thursday. For additional statewide case information visit: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/

Social distancing measures are a very effective method to protect the community from COVID-19. We appreciate local businesses who have adhered to Ohio Department of Health Guidelines. Some good examples we have noticed throughout Wyandot County include posting informative social distancing signage at public entries, allowing employees to work from home when feasible, placing an employee at entrances to limit state-ordered occupancy, and marking 6 foot distances on floors. Ultimately, the responsibility for maintaining social distance lies with every citizen. When you need to venture out for supplies, follow these tips to keep yourselves safe: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/checklists/english-checklists/grocery-shopping
