FLU VACCINES... IT'S NOT TOO LATE!

It’s Not Too Late to Get a Flu Vaccine!
CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against seasonal flu viruses. Even though we are in the month of December, flu vaccine continues to be beneficial.
Some people are at high risk of developing serious flu complications that can lead to hospitalization and even death. People at high risk include children younger than 5 years of age, but especially children younger than 2 years old; people 65 years of age and older; pregnant women and people who have long-term medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease. It’s also important to get a flu vaccine if you care for anyone at high risk, including children younger than 6 months who are too young to get a flu vaccine.
Getting a flu vaccine is simple and is the most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones from the flu. Wyandot County Public Health continues to offer flu vaccines for all ages, including the high-dose flu vaccine for people 65 years and older during routine immunization clinics which are held Mondays 12-6 pm and Fridays 9-11:30 am and 1-4 pm at the health department.
